I should go to sleep. But first, I just wanted to recommend Ten Inch Hero. It's a really cute movie ♥

Which also made me miss living in Santa Cruz :(

In other news, I celebrated my bday at my dad's today. A little after the fact, but I haven't been back here since then so this is the first opportunity. They got me a mocha cake decorated like a graveyard - cookie crumbs for grave dirt and little plastic toys on top (like a fake iron gate and tombstone rings). So much cake. So full. They also gave me a Visa gift card so Amazon.com, here I come!

We're going to Santa Cruz tomorrow so they can check on the cabin. I'm just going because I haven't been back since I moved out of my apartment. But also because I want to check the Borders there for something. They have a better selection of stuff there than they do in most bookstores in San Francisco. That ain't right. We're also going into town for lunch and I want to get a bubble tea. Mmmm... so good.

I hate big events. I really do. All you do is plan and stress. I almost wish people didn't care about me graduating. I know my mom would be really upset if she has to miss it (her only daughter, her first kid graduating, etc.) but my grandma is having a brain biopsy on Friday (day before graduation) and I feel bad that my mom is going to be away from her for most of the day Saturday. For the record, my grandma turned 92 today.

I have graduation practice in about 40 minutes and after we have a senior dinner. All I want to do is go back to the apartment and clean some more. I'm trying to start packing things so my mom can bring some stuff back with her this weekend. I don't want to wait until the last minute to move everything out of my apartment.

And I'm tired today because I was crying last night over this shit and the weather has been hot and I don't know.

PS I'm wearing flip-flops to my graduation. It's going to be hot. Fuck shoes. This is Santa Cruz anyway.

However, a couple things that are making me happy (or will make me happy):

1. New Psych soon ( OMG I love them <3<3<3 )

2. Comic-Con
3. New Stargate movie
4. New X-Files movie
5. Trip to Scotland to see the Boosh
6. Death Note
7. News about a new Drake & Josh movie

ETA: I really wish The Amazing Screw-On Head had been picked up as a series. Then again, I'm sure I'd watch anything that has David Hyde Pierce playing a character (well, voice) named 'Emperor Zombie' who smokes his victims in a giant bong in order to absorb all their knowledge.

I'm sick :(
Nothing too bad (yet), just congested in the head. And I don't think I've ever sneezed this much in my life.

For the past four nights, I think, the earliest I've gone to bed is 4 am. The latest was 6 am. And I've also watched about 20 hours of Psych this weekend. Watched all of the first season, then some episodes again with the commentary, and then some again just for fun. Still haven't quite gotten my fill yet. I need the second season on DVD asap. I've watched so much that I had a dream last night where I was working a case with Lassiter. I don't remember what happened though. Also, I've realized that one of the reasons I like Shawn and Lassiter's interactions so much is that it reminds me of Rimmer and Lister.

Friday night, my friends and I went to a midnight showing of Jurassic Park. The theatre was completely full. It was awesome though. The whole audience cheered every time we saw a character for the first time (including Mr. DNA). So much fun <3 Next weekend is The Goonies but I'm going home for Mother's Day.

Saturday I did nothing but watch Psych.

Last night my friend and I went to see Lewis Black live. Not surprisingly, he was great. I think Santa Cruz has a habit of scarring for life anyone who visits though. We didn't cheer enough for Santa (Lewis Black's presidential candidate) so Lewis said we were all bitter fuckers who weren't going to get anything for Christmas ^_^ And there was someone in the audience who wouldn't stop laughing, but they had one of those weird laughs that make you laugh too. Lewis Black said that he thought it was a woman laughing, but he couldn't be sure. It could have also been a pony. Basically, it was a fun night. Oh, and the guy who ripped my ticket when I got into the theatre had the most gorgeous eyes. I have never seen eyes that green and bright in real life.

Finally, is it May 22nd yet?!
spacemonkeyluvn: (sg1:: *blink*)
Lewis Black is coming to Santa Cruz!

He's going to be here May 4th and tickets go on sale this Sunday. If they're not too expensive, I'm so there.

PS DO NOT WANT - McSpaced casting news.

And if this news article is true, I have so many questions that I don't think I want answered o_0

Some things:

1. Jeff Dunham was even funnier this time than he was in San Jose. And this time my mom came with me. She loved it, of course. She loves him ever since I made her watch my DVD and she never really gets to go out so I'm glad she had fun.

He had two people open up for him and one of them is Brian Haner who was hilarious and is also apparently the father of Synyster Gates, the lead guitarist of Avenged Sevenfold. (A group I just realized I knew after listening to 'Bat Country.')

Not surprisingly, Jeff made a lot of drug jokes about Santa Cruz and how he and his friends were scared by some of the people walking down Pacific. We do get some weird ones. He also said that he and his three male friends (two who opened for him and one manager or something) rented a motel room earlier to watch a football game and how that must have looked odd. Four guys renting a motel room for a couple hours and all they brought into the room were "beer and smiles."

After his show, he came back out and handed shirts to the people in the front row he talked to. He also says that it's come to his attention that some people are unhappy that he stopped using one of his puppets, Bubba J., in his shows. He said that the show we just saw was what we paid for and this next bit is free because he hasn't done this character in months and needs a cheat sheet of his jokes. So he brings out Bubba J. and starts talking. During this act, some of the people in the audience were helping him with his punch lines. Jeff said it was like a weird version of church with everyone saying what he was saying. By the end of the show, the whole audience was saying Bubba's lines with him (including one joke that was a couple of sentences - they kept up nicely). Jeff said it was a compliment that everyone knew his material, but it says something about him that we knew it better than him. He also said this was one of the weirdest shows he's ever done. Guess he'll remember Santa Cruz. I know I don't think I've laughed that hard in a long time.

He said that he's going to be making a Christmas special for Comedy Central and that they'll be filming it in June. It sounded like he was coming back here to film it, but I don't know. I'll have to keep an eye out for tickets because I would love to be there for it.

Achmed's 'Jingle Bombs' song I was talking about. )

2. I had an EKG this morning. I had been feeling weird, but thankfully everything looks normal - 'textbook' as my doctor said. I'm feeling what everyone experiences but are normally not aware of. My doctor gave me a referral to a therapist and they're going to call to set up an appointment. I've always had anxiety and whatnot, but it seems to be getting worse. My mom is thinking it might have something to do with this being my last year in college. Good times.

3. It's almost Wednesday!!! Although I suppose I won't be able to watch Torchwood until at least Thursday or Friday. Luckily I'm going home this weekend for my friend's birthday. I should be able to watch it then.

4.

Interesting angle there ^_^
