The [livejournal.com profile] sherlockbbc Nor Cal meetup was today and I wasn't sure if I should go because I wouldn't know anybody and you just never know. But I convinced myself to go and I'm so glad I did. We had lunch at The Pig and Whistle (good pub food - I had a pastie and sausage rolls because I'm a fatass LOL). I had a lot of fun talking to everyone (there were 11 people I think) and it's always nice to talk to others who understand your geekiness. As we were leaving, the pub started lowering a projection screen to show Jaws. No idea why, but I love them for it. [PS I was wearing my Velociholmes shirt today]

After lunch, we made our way to the California Academy of Sciences. I forgot to bring my camera, but I had my cell phone... )

We went to a show in the planetarium, which I was thankful for because I hadn't been able to go the first and only time I've been there since the renovation. As expected, I miss the old one, but it was still a lot of fun. So glad I went.

My mom actually spent the day in Golden Gate Park waiting for me and taking pictures, so I just met up with her and we went to Safeway for a few things (got a delicious sandwich and some pretzel M&Ms) and then home. As soon as I got home I got online and found out that my icon had been picked as the favorite for my team and is now the default icon of [livejournal.com profile] hv_teamlogic! I'm glad other people liked it. I made it at like 3am and everything is funny at that hour. I also saw that [livejournal.com profile] angrybeige had TWO new comics out. A glorious day indeed ;D

I recorded the SyFy movie Behemoth but I have a bit of a headache so I might save that for tomorrow. I also bought this Sherlock Homes DVD collection at Target for $2 but have no idea if it's any good so I'll probably give that a try tomorrow too.

It's dark, cold, and quiet in the house right now. Everyone's asleep, but I'm not even tired yet, so I have to be really quiet. In a minute I'll watch something on TV with my headphones on, but right now I'm just bored ;)

I went to Comic-Con how many months ago?! At this point, I don't really feel like writing up a whole report of everything. And to be honest, I don't think I ever was. It just seems like so much work and other people wrote about it so much better than I could ever have. So I'll just post a few of my favorite pictures. If you have any questions, for whatever reason, feel free to ask. I have everything I did and saw written down in a notebook, so if I can't remember, I can always check my notes.

San Diego Comic-Con '08 )

I told you guys that I spent 6 hours in line to get into the California Academy of Sciences on its grand re-opening, right? Well I did. And so did two of my best friends. Who don't even like science <3

Anyhoo, not worth it. I miss my childhood :( They took away all the dinosaurs, except one. All that was really there was stuff about climate change. Good to know, but come on. DINOSAURS! Stupid science people. Dinosaurs are still cool *pouts*

But here, have some pictures :)

Grand Re-Opening of CAoS )

I still have my Seattle/Canada trip that I went on before Comic-Con, but I think next I'll post pictures from London/Edinburgh before that becomes months later.

Mile-long line for Academy of Sciences opening

By 1 p.m., 5,000 patient ones had gotten inside. By the 9 p.m. closing, the number grew to nearly 17,000. But thousands more were turned away for lack of room. The staff suggested that those who struck out Saturday could come back on the next free admission day, Oct. 15.

Last night's birthday party was a semi-bust. Everyone (even though there were only like 4) except my two best friends couldn't make it to the karaoke lounge. Which actually turned out fine, because we were exhausted from earlier that day and didn't really want to be there ourselves. It was also expensive and I didn't realize you had to pay per song. So we went stopped off at Safeway and got snacks and beer and went back to my friend's house where we changed into our PJs, ordered a pizza, and had cake. A cake with a naked man on it ^_^

And I feel FELL asleep watching Bridget Jones's Diary <3

But what I'm really here to talk about - the new Drake & Josh Christmas movie. Which is where my subject line comes from. Not from personal experience.

I am so excited for this movie, you have no idea. I showed it to my mom and she asked me how I could go from something like The Mighty Boosh to Drake & Josh. I guess the same way I can go from Iron Maiden on my iPod to 'C is for Cookie.' It's all about variety ;)
