It's dark, cold, and quiet in the house right now. Everyone's asleep, but I'm not even tired yet, so I have to be really quiet. In a minute I'll watch something on TV with my headphones on, but right now I'm just bored ;)

I went to Comic-Con how many months ago?! At this point, I don't really feel like writing up a whole report of everything. And to be honest, I don't think I ever was. It just seems like so much work and other people wrote about it so much better than I could ever have. So I'll just post a few of my favorite pictures. If you have any questions, for whatever reason, feel free to ask. I have everything I did and saw written down in a notebook, so if I can't remember, I can always check my notes.

I do have some more pictures, but it seems I don't have that file on this computer. Which means it must be on my sister's computer. Granted, these are my favorite anyway, but I might add to this post later.

I told you guys that I spent 6 hours in line to get into the California Academy of Sciences on its grand re-opening, right? Well I did. And so did two of my best friends. Who don't even like science <3

Anyhoo, not worth it. I miss my childhood :( They took away all the dinosaurs, except one. All that was really there was stuff about climate change. Good to know, but come on. DINOSAURS! Stupid science people. Dinosaurs are still cool *pouts*

But here, have some pictures :)

Crazy!lady who kept trying to get in front of us. FOR 6 GODDAMN HOURS!

The living roof

See?! Cool.

I still have my Seattle/Canada trip that I went on before Comic-Con, but I think next I'll post pictures from London/Edinburgh before that becomes months later.

Yay! ::stares at Matt Keeslar's eyelashes::

What, exactly, is the 'living roof'?

They covered the roof with native plants. The green roof will keep the "building's interior an average of 10 degrees cooler than a standard roof would. The plants also transform carbon dioxide into oxygen, capture rainwater, and reduce energy needs for heating and cooling... Skylights above the larger domes will open and close throughout the day, enabling sunlight to reach the exhibits below. The steep slopes of the rooftop's hills will draw cool air into the open piazza at the center of the building." And it will also attract local butterflies, birds, and insects, some of which are endangered.

Interesting... it sort of looks like a high-tech hobbit hole.

I don't know why I didn't think of that, but now that you mention it, it's all I can see ;)
