Feeling a little off today. One of those days where everything sort of hits you at once. Also, the friend who's getting married went dress shopping and such today with friends and family. Didn't say a single thing about it to me. I love how she gets on my ass about not reaching out (which I have been trying to get better at) but she seems to make no effort at all. I heard about all this through a mutual friend and Facebook. We used to be best friends. I know we've grown apart over the years but I wish she would either make an effort or stop pretending. We wouldn't be friends if we had just met. All we have in common is the past. The problem is, I don't know how much I really care. I don't like talking on the phone in general, but with her, she'll tell you everything in her life but if you try to talk about your problems, she can't be arsed to care. I'm so sorry my pathetic life of being unemployed and taking care of my mom isn't exciting for you and your perfect fairy tale you're living in. I have become something of a recluse (bordering on hikikomori) lately, and sometimes I need a little push. But if you want me to, I can try to make the effort. And I know we're all old enough to have our own lives and problems. I'm not expecting it to be like it was when we were still in school. Not like it would matter. The thought of being alone with her just makes me nervous. We'd have nothing to talk about and I hate small talk. I'm thankful for the few friends I do have and the time I spend with them. I just... don't care and still care quite a bit about this friendship. I've known her for what? 16 years. Since 3rd grade. It sucks thinking that it could be over.

Lately I feel like it's just my immediate family (mom, brother, grandma) and me. I barely even see or talk to my sister, dad, and stepmom. With my mom hurt, me unemployed, and my brother and me taking care of our grandma every day... I'm just having a low day is all. A poor/woe is me day.

I did make blueberry muffins from scratch today, using this recipe. They are yummy! I ate like 6 of them so far. I love baking/cooking. I find it relaxing.

And I just 'ordered' a $50 check using some of my credit card points. I think I'm going to buy myself this Starfleet sweatshirt.

Even though I haven't even posted yet...
ETA: Sometimes the universe answers your call. Another friend just messaged me on FB asking if I wanted to get breakfast and hang out tomorrow. I feel like a dick for complaining when I do really have some great friends.

Yesterday I watched the first episode of Majo Saiban. With no subs. I think this was the first time I've been so impatient for a show, I didn't wait until subs were already out. I was able to get the gist of what's going on. I know it's being slightly unreasonable because it's only been like two days, but I need subs! :P

In the meantime, I guess I'll just enjoy Toma being a dork and checking out girls.

Also, someone please buy/make me this shirt *bats eyelashes* If they're smart (the people behind the show), they'll be selling it soon enough, since it's his character who supposedly designed it. Then again, with the right font, I'm sure I could do it too. I'm just a lazy, lazy girl.

------------

I'm closing tonight, so I'll be missing House again, dammit. I guess that's what the internet is for. At least I'll be in time for Heroes.

Speaking of, it's getting harder and harder to resist Adrian/Milo when the bastards keep doing stuff like this.

Mark your calenders, everyone - Velociraptor Awareness Day is this weekend.

Also, I want this, and this, and this.

ETA: Masturbating dinosaur wall art. Umm... wut?!

So I'm being all adult-like and making out a budget for myself. I have to say, it's not easy when what you make varies from week to week. However, I am creating spreadsheets to keep track of my spending. I've come up with categories so I can see where I need to cut back or whatever. Also, since I get paid weekly, two of my paychecks will automatically go into my savings account, one will go towards my student loans, and the other will be free spending money. Or more savings if I don't spend it. I figure it's about time I really start saving up for things like an apartment, a car, and/or a trip to Japan. Hell, even 'smaller' things like a new laptop, external hard drive, a new digital camera (mine totally crapped out on me), and the like.

Plus, I love spreadsheets and making lists ^_^

Now, having said all that, I totally want this. Mmmm... dirt scented candles. Makes me miss the good ol' days when Crayola had those scented crayons. White was baby powder; black was leather; brown was dirt; etc. I think I'll buy one of the big candles tomorrow since I have to buy my L: Change the WorLd ticket anyway.

This is the 2007 In Review in which you take all the first lines of your first entries of the first day of the month and post them here.

End of the Year meme. )

WTH? Well, my mom really wanted the movie too, so maybe I can get the new one for me and give her the other one.

I want this now. And is it January yet?

I am now officially done for the quarter. No more school work until the new year. I'm tutoring a student tomorrow and I am meeting with my teacher tomorrow, but that's to talk about the class that I'm a tutor for. And I get money for that. Money which I will soon be spending.
spacemonkeyluvn: (xtra:: Jeff Dunham & Peanut)
Until I can make an animated icon of Peanut from Jeff Dunham's special 'Spark of Insanity,' this one will have to do. I wish I could animate his laugh. It fills me with happy ^_^

Basically I'm just excited because I found out that Jeff is going to be in San Jose from December 6th to the 9th! Somehow, I will go to one of his shows. I will make my friend go with me and I shall force my dad to drive us. OMG! That's one of the good things about being a Libra - we can't make decisions for crap, but once we've made our minds up about something, it will happen.

I will see Jeff Dunham live. I will go to Ryan Gosling's restaurant in Beverly Hills. I will go to Europe. Eventually...

On a completely different topic, The Mighty Boosh sounds really weird with a laugh track.

And I'm trying to decide what I should buy myself with my birthday money. So far I'm thinking The Rules of Modern Policing - 1973 Edition, Life on Mars 2008 Calendar, Spaced - Definitive Collectors' Edition, (just ordered them) Sonic Screwdriver (when it's back in stock), SG1 poster because it's quite possibly my favorite show ever (at least it has my OTP of OTPs) and I still don't have a poster of it, and the Khaaaaaan shirt.

And does this shirt totally scream HRG to anyone else? It was made with him in mind, right? I mean, there's even an episode of Heroes called 'Company Man'.

Just sayin'.
spacemonkeyluvn: (lom:: Life on Mars)
Pushing Daisies was fantastic! Finally, a new show I'm actually interested about. Although I am watching Big Shots if only for Christopher Titus.

I have a question for you guys: Why don't we have awesome ads like that in the US?

Since I already caved and bought Heroes for my birthday, I think with my first paycheck I will buy that book as well as the LoM calender. *nods*
spacemonkeyluvn: (heroes:: rps)
It's hot. Ewwwww.
(The weather, that is. The subject line comes from Invader Zim and I only just now realised that if read as if the thoughts were connected that would be even more disgusting than just the subject ^_^)

I love the internet. And cable. I'm at my dad's right now because we still don't have either in the apartment. Also, he has a pool. But those aren't the only reasons I'm here. I also want to get some recipes from him to make when I'm back in Santa Cruz. And he has a pool.

I was up until about 4:30 this morning going through my flist and watching vids on Youtube. I got distracted with all the pretty from the cast of Heroes (including the icon I'm using of Adrian and Milo). I was also making my Christmas list. It includes:

a Life on Mars poster
the Life on Mars calender
Life on Mars series 1 and 2
a Sonic Screwdriver
and
the TARDIS

Today I bought new headphones because the right ear piece on the ones I had just stopped working. I also went to the park with my stepmom, sister, and her dog. It's a nice playground. It's new, has weird swings and things I've never seen before, and also has a fountain that I ran in and got soaking wet. Fun times ^_^
