don't touch it!!!!
Jun. 6th, 2006 06:27 pmi don't really feel
nerdy but i like the pic
still hot. but not as bad, i guess. my paper is due tomorrow and i was doing so well working on it but then i got the wonderful idea to tag my most recent entries. i get distracted way to easily. that and researching the Human Papilloma Virus (genital warts, anyone?) and it's connection to cervical cancer- while interesting- is not exactly my idea of a good time. and to think, i first heard about a virus causing cancer from a Kaiser Permanente commerical.
at about 1 am this morning, my friend got on her way to Honduras for 3 weeks :( i probably won't hear from her during that time because it's not easy or cheap over there. oh well. i hope she has fun :)
today in Overview of the Universe, our teacher told us a couple of interesting facts (well, besides EVERYTHING, since space is just awesome)- when you see the black and white static on TVs, 1% of that static is Cosmic Microwave Background left over from the Big Bang; and if you ever meet an alien, do not shake it's hand or touch it!! it might be made of antimatter and if you two touch, you will both be annihilated. so just... be careful everyone. i don't want any of you to be annihilated :)
and this weekend, my dad should be coming down to pick up my fridge- i have to start packing up 'cause school's out next week! also, on Saturday, my friend Casey and i are going down to the Barn Theater to see the Buffy Musical performed by fellow slugs ^_^ that should be interesting. and it's free!
tomorrow, i get to turn in my paper and then go downtown to Longs so i can buy a Father's Day card and garbage bags to 'pack' all my dorm crap. i think i might also get some Jamba Juice because if i buy one more, i get a free one! and i also get to clean out my fridge which reeks of something rotten. guess i'll be finding out what it is tomorrow. wish me luck :/
and i just wasted another 20 minutes or so writing this... but since i'm here, did you know that what we think of when we think of the universe (stars, galaxies, planets, gas, us ---> ordinary matter) only makes up about 4.4% of the total mass/energy of the universe? so even what little we think we know about the universe really only makes up a tiny little fraction of what is really out there. crazy. i'd much rather be writing about space than humans and our genomes. but then again, we know so little about how our own bodies work, so all the new discoveries made every day are interesting too. all this stuff makes me really sad about how people act here on Earth, when we are nothing compared to... anything really! even in our own solar system we're nothing.
aaaannnnddd i think that's enough of that for now. i have homework to do. papers to write. looking back at my mood pic, maybe i AM feeling nerdy right now ^_^
forgot to add that i sent off 3 postcards to David Hewlett today :D and now i'm going back to listening to Queen and writing this paper.
