spacemonkeyluvnfirst of all, HUGS & THANK YOUs to everyone who filled out my survey. you guys helped to double my responses. i still have a way to go, but at least i'm getting there now. if you missed it, you can still fill it out. it's over here. and again, it's only 8 questions long so it shouldn't take more than a minute or two ^_^
i feel all productive today. and it's a good feeling. maybe i should get off my lazy ass more often. i got up and on the way to class, stopped at the bookstore to get a sweatshirt i've been wanting. i've been at UCSC for 3 years and until today, didn't have a UCSC sweatshirt. my sister has one! so i finally got one. although, it doesn't actually say 'UCSC,' but it does say 'California' and 'Santa Cruz.' that's close enough. and it's so soft! when i went to pay for it, the woman at the register said "I've never felt one this soft here before." and while i was trying the sweatshirt on, a woman who worked there said that on Monday they're having a promotion where if you buy a Russell sweatshirt you get a free shirt. the sweatshirt i wanted was a Russell and she let me get the free shirt today. oh, and i got a new ID card holder because the one i have is falling apart.
after class, i met up with Cindy. we ate brunch and went to the library where i looked up books and articles for my Arch research paper. i checked out two books and printed three articles. we're going to read tonight and meet up tomorrow for breakfast/studying.
once we finished at the library, we got coffee and snacks at the little store near the Bay Tree Bookstore. i got snacks for tonight when i'll be reading/watching Psych/doing laundry.
i checked my mail before i came into the computer lab and i had two Valentine's Day cards. one was from my Dad, stepmom, and sister. it was of Snoopy, but there was also a check for $20 from my Dad. it was just so, not expected. i should call him later to thank him. the other card was from Kate, and she makes interesting cards XD this one had mostly-naked body builders all over it and the phrase "Brings new meaning to the 'Big Bang' Theory." and on the back it says "Hit 'em hard." on the inside was the card and a Kenneth Cole ad for cologne with Jon Bon Jovi (he's pretty). i should call and thank her too.
right now i'm in the computer labchecking and updating my LJ starting homework for another class and trying to make my user info page all pretty. and when i get back to my dorm, i'm doing laundry.
ya know what sucks? the fact that i'm really starting to enjoy (almost all) the episodes of SG1 and it's been cancelled. i loved the last two episodes.
10x16- Bad Guys
i don't have much to say about the episode as a whole except it amused me greatly. poor Daniel. saying that it's a bad idea and then being the one stun-gunned. but i loved this-
*random girls fighting over a guy*
Daniel: "What the hell are you doing?! Stop it!"
Random girl: "She started it..."
D: "Shut up! Shut up. You're hostages. This is like a life or death situation, here. Start acting like it."
RG: "Please! You're not rebels..."
D: "That doesn't matter. You're hostages, we're- we're your captors. We're heavily armed! There's rules! There's a whole school of etiquette to this." *points finger* "Don't eyeball me."
i don't remember the last time i laughed so hard, especially for SG1. i mean, i squeed like crazy during The Shroud, but actually (not literally) LMAO? oh, Daniel. you still own my soul (or at least most of it). <3 <3
10x17- Talion
again, i'm loving the lines. my favs (which i will most likely turn into icons at some point)-
Daniel: (talking to enemy-guy i can't remember the name of) "Bra'tac sends his regards as well. Don't think he'll mind me speaking for him when I say that he'd love to stab you in the eye with a really big knife." *smiles the innocent!Daniel smile*
and
Guy Teal'c is torturing: "Where are you going?!"
Teal'c: (in matter-of-fact!Teal'c voice) "I am leaving. You are about to explode."
this episode made me tear up. TEAL'C! BRA'TAC! TEAL'C'S MOTHER! i heart them so. *hugs them* Teal'c is the son Bra'tac never had. *sniff* i mean, we all knew that, but it was a precious and lovely scene. <3 <3
Teal'c beating the crap out of Cameron didn't make me squee or anything, but it did slightly amuse me... just slightly. and i was actually yelling at my computer, cheering on Teal'c and flinching when he was hit. but damn, Teal'c! are you out of Jaffa!revenge yet? that's a lot of anger you've been holding on to. no wonder you didn't talk a lot. volcano much?
i need some more Teal'c icons.

Date: 2007-02-25 02:40 am (UTC)you really should pick up SG1 again! it has it's not-so-good moments, but even with Jack gone, i'm enjoying it more than i thought i would. i'm also enjoying Daniel post-ascension. i still love young!Daniel, but i like how he's relaxed and become more comfortable while still being a smartass with (mostly) no sense of self-preservation <3

Date: 2007-03-05 07:12 am (UTC)i think SG1 actually only has, maybe, 2 more episodes left (in Europe and such- the second half won't air here in the States until April) and then it's over. well, i think they're going to have a couple straight-to-DVD movies, but no more show. i wouldn't even mind it ending so much, but i'm really starting to enjoy it again. also, i wouldn't mind so much if they chose to end it instead of it being cancelled by Sci-Fi. Sci-Fi's on my list right now. i just hope Atlantis does well on its own (although there are some changes for next season i'm not liking too much).
