my fantablulous weekend
May. 21st, 2006 06:35 pmi am actually feeling
productive this weekend
yesterday was a good day. i got up around noon and went to go eatbreakfast lunch. when i got back to my dorm, my friend called and i talked to her for a while. then i watched and taped two episodes of Drake & Josh that i had not seen before. i was supposed to go see The Da Vinci Code with a friend and a couple of her friends, but she never called and honestly i didn't feel like waiting for them or having to depend on them. so after D&J, i went downtown by myself. i saw the movie- i hadn't read the book but i guessed correctly pretty much everything that happened- which was alright. at least i got out of my dorm for the day. then i got Starbucks and Quiznos for dinner later and went home. later that night was another episode of D&J so i was happy. also, my friend Casey called me to tell me that she bought me a ticket and we were going to see X-Men 3 this Thursday at midnight. we're going to eat dinner first, see the movie and then get a taxi back to campus. i can't wait!! i was so excited i even did homework.
today was a little more lazy. i got up around noon again- because i can't seem to fall asleep anymore and i was exhausted- and i went to go eat. then i came back to my room and watched two more episodes of Drake & Josh and then read two books for a paper due Tuesday. right now i'm sitting in the computer lab updating my LJ while thinking what i want to write for this paper. at least i've already read the books- The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros and The Yellow Wall-Paper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman (which is really depressing). 3 pages due Tuesday. not too bad (especially since i already did all the other homework due that day) but i still really don't want to. and i'm hungry. at least i have new Simpsons, Family Guy, and Red Dwarf (well, new to me) tonight.
and random note- i'm actually using an icon made my somebody else. but that's just until my computer works and i can make my own icons again. i don't have any Drake & Josh ones yet and i love this one. they're adorable! <3
it's by
miss_trombone btw
and another random note- the only other person i know who likes Drake & Josh is my soon-to-be-11-year-old sister ^_^ she has good taste- she also gave me a Harry Potter poster. i <3 Bridget!!

Date: 2006-05-22 02:15 am (UTC)X-Men 3! I'm all over it. Only - I'm so annoyed by Cyclops and Jean Grey. I wish they would just pitch those characters. It feels so contrived to have Wolverine hankering after Jean; there is so much more chemistry with Rogue, IMO. But that's just me. I'm seeing it.

Date: 2006-05-22 02:28 am (UTC)i can see that, definitely. i'm not even that big a fan of the comics, show, or movies (i liked them but it's not like LOTR for me or anything). i just watch them for pure enjoyment. i won't be disappointed if something happens that shouldn't and all that fun stuff. i just LOVE going to see movies like this on the opening day/weekend because then you get the people who DO care what happens and the vibe from the audience is so much fun. it makes me feel all geeky and i love it. good times ^_^
