my weekend so far...
Jul. 24th, 2005 12:00 amtoday, my friend casey came over and we were going to watch QAF season 2, but blockbuster had all discs exept the first one :P so instead we rented National Treasure, Miss Congeniality 2, Sideways, and Latter Days. we got through all except Sideways. so basically, that's what i did today. i ate and watched movies. hopefully tomorrow i'll go see charlie and the chocolate factory since i didn't get to before.
also, i never watch CSI, but yesterday i just happen to watch a marathon and so i watch 2 episodes. then, it's on again but on a different channel. there's nothing else on, so i watch it. i'm so happy i accidentally watched it- it was the episode with Wil Wheaton that i missed the first time it aired! it was a good episode and he was great :) i just wish he could have been in it more. i got series IV of Red Dwarf in the mail yesterday too, so i should cap those and make some more Rimmer icons soon.
damn! looking around my room is depressing. i still haven't unpacked from school yet :/ whoops! and i'm so not looking forward to re-packing for school. now that i'm rooming on my own, i have to bring everything. and i still need a microwave and a printer. at least i don't go back until september [16th i think].
we watched Latter Days first. oh. my. god. i love this movie so much. the whole movie i was trying not to cry but when they see each other again in the restaurant and christian drops his tray... yeah, i couldn't hold it in any longer. that movie is fantastic. i was so afraid it wasn't going to end happily. it was quite emotionally intense for me. i think i will have to buy it now :)
we watched Miss Congeniality next. it was alright. it felt slow at first and i kept getting up to do other things, but i liked the ending. i knew that benjamin bratt wasn't going to be in this one, but i still felt that him breaking up with sandra over the phone saying that he needed more space was a cheap way out. maybe that's just me. i also thought regina king's character was a little too intense, like cartoon character intense. i did like when they did the tina turner performance though. Diedrich Bader was interesting as the gay stylist/whatever, but after watching Latter Days, he too felt like a cartoon character. oh well. and as little as he was in it, it's always a pleasure watching William Shatner :)
National Treasure was actually really good. i was getting a little annoyed near the end when we thought that there was no treasure because it was getting really Disney, but when they found the treasure- well, i was jealous. i know it's too much money for anyone, but it would sure be nice to have just a little bit. even just to have been there would have been an awesome sight. i saw some of the things coming, but not so much that i was distracted or disappointed. i do find it slightly annoying that a couple always seems to form in these movies, but hey. at least the rest of it was good.
i'm tired now, so i'll post again when i have icons.
