This 1st person video of the tsunami is terrifying. At first I was like, okay some water. But not a moment later I actually yelled 'Holy shit!' at my computer. I'm scared and I'm not even over there. Jesus. One thing I'm actually 'grateful' for, given the circumstances, is that so many people in Japan were able to film what happened. It's so easy to forget just how serious this kind of tragedy is when it's so far away from you. But so many people filming and sharing their experiences have really helped bring this event into our own homes. Our own lives. It shouldn't have to be that way, but unfortunately, for many it is.

I'm very impressed that the person taking the vid stayed put when the buildings started to float by! I would have been scrambling for higher ground

Watching that video, what got me especially was seeing the tractor trailer floating by. Gah. What do you even say?

What saddens me is how many children have died/will die because of everything that's happening in Japan. I mean sure it's sad that adults are dying. But the children haven't even begun their lives yet. And so many are so young.

I saw a local paper here and the cover picture is of a little boy being checked for radiation in Japan who is probably only 3 and all I could think was... "You poor thing. You could die a painful slow death and never have lived to love or anything."

It's all so sad.
