Late to the party perhaps, but I just watched The King's Speech. Such a great movie. As in, it was almost two hours long but I never wanted it to end. I genuinely laughed and I actually teared up a bit. I've adored Colin Firth for years, and I love movies like St. Trinian's and Bridget Jones's Diary, but I love being reminded of just how great an actor he is. If you haven't been able to watch it yet, do yourself a favor and go see it! You won't be disappointed.

Aaaaaand, Ikuta Toma was recently awarded Best New Artist at the 53rd Blue Ribbon Awards! I'm still waiting on subs for Ningen Shikkaku and Hanamizuki, but at least I've been able to watch Seaside Motel :D

I love it when my boys get the recognition they deserve ♥

I keep hearing I need to see that. And I love Colin Firth. Why haven't I seen it yet??

I loved it! Often times I'll like a character or parts of a movie, but I really did enjoy the whole movie. Everyone did a fantastic job ♥

I totally actually cried at that movie. It was wonderful.

It's probably sad that I feel more patriotic for Britain than I do for the US, though I've never been there. Probably a little pretentious, too, but I don't mean to be.

I was tearing up/on the brink of tears for quite a bit, but what pushed me over into actually crying was when his daughters curtsied and addressed him as their king instead of their father and he hugged and kissed them ♥

I pretty much feel the same way. I think, for me at least, I don't consider myself so much an American as I do a Californian. And I've been crazy about all things British since I was a child. I find British humour (see what I did there :P) to be more my style and there's just so much I love about life over there. I'm not complaining about where I live; I love it. But while I'd miss so much about California, if there was one other place I could see myself living, it would be London.

I sort of feel the same way about Tennessee/The Eastern US actually. No offense at all, but I feel a sort of passionate ambivalence (yes, I know, but really) about the West Coast. Also, California stole my best childhood friend from me. :( She moved out there and now she won't come back. *clings, etc*

None taken! It's where I was born and raised so of course it's my home. I don't expect everyone to feel the same way ;)

I'm sorry about your friend though. As it happens, it looks like one of my best friends might be moving out of the state soon. I just... I know it happens, but we've all been so close, geographically, to each other for so long I find it impossible to really imagine.

It hurts, but she and I are still pretty close, given how much we've changed as we've gotten older. Good luck with that, though, if it happens. *hug*

Well that's good at least. And thank you. If she's going, it'll just be to Seattle so she won't be too far away :)
