My first thought once it was finished was that there WASN'T ENOUGH ARTHUR! Although it was kind of nice to see the opposite of 'The Poisoned Chalice.'

I also cried quite a bit. Between Merlin crying over Gaius and Arthur, and Uther crying over Arthur (THAT really broke my heart), I was a mess.

Arthur and Gwen were adorable. <3

As were Gwen and Morgana. <3

I know Morgana had a couple pretty big episodes, but I still kind of feel bad that in eps like this, all she's good for is foreshadowing.

People REALLY shouldn't piss off Merlin. You wouldn't like him when he's angry. I wonder how this whole enemies-with-the-dragon thing is going to play out. No more helpful (or not so helpful) hints on what to do to save Arthur. No more go-to advice about magic and whatnot. Should be interesting...

I should also say that the scene between Merlin and Arthur when Merlin thought he wasn't coming back and was saying goodbye to Arthur also made me tear up. I kind of wish we got to see them have another conversation after that. I mean, that whole 'I'm happy to be your servant until the day I die' line is kind of creepy and ominous for regular conversation. I'd think Arthur would want Merlin to explain a few things including why he was talking like that and why (as far as Arthur knows) Merlin didn't come to see him once he got better.

I didn't mention it in my review but I had tears in my eyes almost the whole way through, first time it happened with Merlin !

I've been totally spoiled but that's how I like it. I don't like being blindsided like I was with Torchwood (I'm still not over that ending, gah!). This will be the first ep I watch. Oh look! It's done. *toddles off* I will undoubtedly be posting my reaction as well as my analysis of how positively gay Gawain is from all the Arthurian legends I've been reading this semester.

Yeah, I cried quite a bit myself... I was like, teary, for quite a bit of the episode. But when Merlin said he needs to say goodbye to Arthur, and when he was reading Gaius' letter, I really cried. Oh, show.

I'm so glad Merlin finally said he was going to say goodbye to Arthur. I mean, it made me cry, but the first time he thought he was going to die, he was so happy Arthur was going to live, but he didn't go see him :(

And oh, God. Gaius' letter. That broke me.

HOW LONG DO WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR NEXT SEASON!?!?!?!
