So, I have Smallville and Supernatural tonight. I also, possibly, have the US remake of Life on Mars to watch.

Should I or shouldn't I?

I most likely will, even against my better judgment. I have nothing else to watch at 10pm anyway, so why not? And if I really can't stand it, I can just change the channel.

Scratch that. I'm not going to watch it. I don't even like the ads for it; I'm not sure how I'd get through an hour.

I haven't watched the UK Life on Mars (yet), but I'm almost certainly not going to watch the US remake for 2 reasons:

1- It's a remake... and not just that it's a remake. I don't mind an update of an old series, for example, but I feel like there's a sort of conceit that the culture of the British show won't translate to the US with all those remakes (The Office, I'm looking at you!).

2 - The promos seem to absolutely loooove the cliched idea of the intrepid hero having the girl 'back home' while also developing a relationship with a sexy, competent love interest while on his adventure. Blah.

But those are just my reasons! XD So if you feel like you might want to watch, maybe you should give it a chance!

Oh, I definitely don't want to watch, and I know I won't like it. So... when I put it that way, I'm not sure why I was even going to bother in the first place, LOL.

You know what? Forget it. I'm not going to give it my time or energy. And I don't want to be a part of anything that helps it continue.

I have plenty to watch on DVD or on my computer anyway.

If you like the UK Life on Mars, there's really no reason to watch the US version, because it is almost word-for-word the exact same show, just with different actors and a different location. Otherwise, they're identical.

This is true. Unfortunately. And from what I've seen of the trailers and whatnot, I don't really like the 'feel' of it anyway. Besides the obvious they're-unnecessarily-remaking-a-brilliant-show.

BELIEVE ME, you did not miss ANYTHING on the Life On Mars front. It was just crappy, all around. & the heaviness of the Sm/Annie made me feel ill. I haven't yelled such irate things at the television in AGES. & ugh, next week doesn't look any better - it's my favourite episode & it looks so BAD. ::cries::

That makes me sad. It wouldn't be so bad if I just knew it would get cancelled or something. I only watched about half of it, but it was more than enough.

Don't cry. It's not worth your tears ;)
