What's the story with your face, son?
Nov. 13th, 2006 02:47 pmi'm looking up classes to take next quarter (i have to sign up on Wednesday) and there are two classes that i really want to take but can't for one reason or another:
1] Scifi Multcultl Amr- Science fiction by authors and artists of diverse cultural backgrounds, contextualized within the political and economic conditions of the U.S.
i can't take this one because a class i need for my major is at the same time :( also, what the hell happened to the Queer Theory in Star Trek class i saw offered my freshman year?! i would have LOVED to have taken that class =D
2] Read Hieroglphs Part 1- Introduction to Egyptian hieroglyphs as a graphic, conceptual, and communicative system. Covers the basic elements of classical Egyptian grammar, drawing primarily on inscriptions from extant Egyptian monuments. Students read one prose and one poetical text from the Middle Kingdom.
it also says, "Strongly recommended: two years previous study of a foreign language at the college level or the equivalent" and i am SO bad at languages. despite the fact that i got As in high school Spanish and college Latin, i cannot think in other languages. on my AP Spanish test i got either a 1 or 2 (i forget) out of 5. and that's BAD in case you don't know. i think the only thing i got right on that test was my name *facepalm*

i'm thinking of becoming a Peer Advisor for the Anthro dept. or at least filling out an application. although lately i seem to be drawn to classes in the Earth Sciences dept. i got a 90% on my last Earth Catastrophe test ^_^
last night i wanted to kill somebody. assholes were screaming and running down the halls until at least 5 IN THE FUCKING MORNING! i wasn't feeling too well, and i really needed to sleep (i even started going to sleep at about 11:30 which is early for me) but these asswipes woke me up more than once. i finally fell asleep listening to my iPod, the DanielJackson. and their was lotion all over the hallway floors and bathroom. sometimes i really hate college students.
so even though i have stuff to do, i'm taking this Monday easy. watching Star Trek, News Radio, etc... i'll stress on Wednesday. i returned my books to the library and that's the extent of my school work today. since my section today was cancelled and it's rainy and cold outside, i'm just trying to get better.
