i love science XD

so i was outside tonight at around 10:50 pm [Pacific standard Time] and i saw it! i saw NASA's Deep Impact probe hit the comet Tempel 1 [http://www.nasa.gov/externalflash/deepimpact_front/index.html]. it was such an awesome sight. granted, it was small- even with the binoculars, but i could tell it's shape and i saw the glow from the impact. it was just a really neat sight that i might not see again. and it's such a weird thought, knowing that these genius scientists planned the exact course for this thing so that it would impact the comet at a precise day and time. what a great way to celebrate the Fourth of July :) and i learned about it in my Planetary Discovery class i had right before summer so i actually knew what the hell was going on :)

today was just a good day. i got my hair cut, i was lazy and didn't do anything [always good ;)], i got Starbucks [w00t!], i got to see Red Dwarf on PBS [since i've only seen 2 series, this was a new episode for me], Robot Chicken was new, i signed up at icons100 to make 100 icons of Arnold Judas Rimmer ;) and found out today i was approved *vbg*- i haven't posted yet, but i've made 13 icons so far. i'm working on my Rimmer/Lister soundtrack [slowly coming together], and i made my famous spinach dip for tomorrow's BBQ. i'm finally learing how to drive, and i might even get a job :) also, my friend is going to come over next week and we're gonna watch the second season of Queer as Folk (US). so far, so good. [what does it say about me if my favorite part of all that was that i'm going to make 100 Rimmer icons? ;)] also, i was really excited about the Red Dwarf episode [The Inquisitor] because when both Rimmer and The Cat didn't remember who Lister was, Lister was only upset that Rimmer didn't remember him and he even went on a rant telling Rimmer all the stuff he knew about him. it's not hard to imagine the slash between those two XD but that's how i like it, my OTPs must actually have chemistry. hot, sweaty chemistry ;P okay. i'll go to sleep now.
