I should really stop reading a certain post on the TW community. It's just making me upset for no reason. It's one thing to say that you don't really like Ianto. I don't understand that, but whatever ^_^ I'm not going to try to change your mind (Ianto will do that himself) or argue why I love him. That's moot. But I get really annoyed (and irrationally angry/frustrated/defensive) when people say that us fangirls just like him because we think he's cute and he's in a relationship (of sorts) with Jack. I know the writers still under use his character or sometimes just seem to use him for sexin' with Jack and witty one-liners, but personally, when you say that his fangirls like him only for those reasons, it makes you seem pretty shallow. To me, of course; I don't have the authority to speak for everyone else, nor do I claim to. Anyway, I'm going to stop this now before I turn this little annoyance into an essay of rant. I try to keep the ranting to a minimum on my journal. It is my 'happy place' after all.


So, in other news:

* In case you were wondering what happened to that fan letter you wrote to The Grateful Dead years ago; it turns out we probably have it.

* Geekiest pants ever?

* I finally ordered/applied for my passport. I know it's a rule that nobody really looks good in their passport pictures, but mine looked like a straight mugshot after I had been sick and pale for about a week. Thankfully, I'll rarely have to look at it myself.


P.S. I'm not actually all that angry. I just enjoy looking at the picture.

Yeah, that sort of talk by people gets me annoyed too. We could call them the shallow ones because they don't bother to look further than the fact that Ianto's cute and is with Jack. More than just a pretty face he is. Us Ianto fangirls get it. :D

It's always the passport pictures, ID photos, and driver's license photos that look bad lol. It definitely is a rule. :P

All I know is that almost every day I hear of someone who felt meh about Ianto and then one day woke up and realized they loved him. It's only a matter of time before it happens to everyone ^_^

Talk about designer jeans. I wonder how much a pair of those would cost? Not that I'd buy one or anything *shifty eyes*
No, really. I wouldn't. I don't think I could pull them off. And I'm somewhat accident prone.

I wonder if whomever these people are are thinking about the same Ianto.

Yes, Ianto is cute. But in NO WAY do I like him because he's in a relationship with Jack.

I like him because he's mysterious.
And dangerous.
And ruthless.
And scheming.
And has mad skills.

I recently wrote this in a Torchwood comm about Ianto:
"He might be the tea boy, but he’s got so much more in him.

Plus, the FACT that he’s the tea boy makes him more interesting. Like a servant, he’s largely ignored and there’s a sort of “comfort buffer zone” around him, which means that people let their guard down around him. That makes him so much more dangerous because he knows a lot that others do not, know more about people than they realize he knows."

I wonder about those people too.

For one thing, I liked Ianto back in series one way before there was any kind of relationship (that we saw at least other than a little flirting). And sometimes, I almost don't want Jack and Ianto to be together just because I know it can't end well for either of them.

I like to think of Ianto as somewhat like Jeeves. He's mostly quiet around other people. Assessing situations and figuring out ways to help everyone else out. That is, if he's using his ninja skills for good. If he wanted to, Ianto could do some serious damage. He knows everything about anything and yet we know next to nothing about him. And what we do know, might not be the whole truth. People underestimate him and that's one of his greatest advantages.

I just hope the writers realize this and don't just use him as eye candy (despite the fact that he is nice to look at).
