i didn't think that a mascot would jump into a pool with a heavy-ass costume of a shark still on. i also thought he would sink to the bottom if he did. i was wrong on both accounts.

my sister seemed to have a happy birthday party. she liked the gifts we got her- Spiderman on DVD and a bunch of San Jose Sharks stuff. as for me, i spent the whole day in her room, on the computer. well, not the whole day. i didn't get up until around noon. i was up until 4 in the morning catching up on episodes of Heroes that i hadn't seen yet. i can't wait to get that show on DVD.

as for the rest of the day, i tried to get myself to work on my papers. but i didn't try very hard. instead i watched Doctor Who's "The Shakespeare Code" and loved it. i really need to catch up with this season. i still miss CE, but i s'pose Ten is growing on me. i also watched my first episode of QI. i'll be needing to watch all of those now. oh, and i'm in the middle of watching Spaced's "Skip to the End."

There's a lot of air in those suits, no? Dare I ask what happened? Dare I ask if beer was invovled?

I am slowly teasing my way through the Nine season as PBS does one ep a week. Trying to draw out the most of that CE goodness. Why only one season? *shakes fist at sky* Whyyyy?

i guess there is air in there. okay, i can see why he might float, but walking around afterwards must be interesting. i'm sure he soaked up about 1/3 of the pool. and don't worry, no beer was involved. it was Sharkie, the San Jose Sharks' mascot. he came to my sister's birthday party. he pushed her in the pool and then jumped in after her. all of her friends then jumped in and tried to drown the poor shark-man ^_^

i got to see Nine when those eps first aired on Sci-Fi, but i am thankful that they are reairing them on PBS because i got to tape the episode with Simon Pegg. i'm sorry to say that when it first aired, i had no idea who Simon Pegg was.

i really do love those episodes and i love CE's Doctor. it might just be that he was the first Doctor i had seen, so he has a special place in my heart <3 i'll be forever sorry that we only got one season with him. he's also the reason i started watching Heroes.

...now i want a CE/Nine icon.

I loved that ep. ;) And I love how PBS is playing the documentaries after the eps. Pegg's bit with trying to pronounce the crazy names they give him...

I've been a big fan of Four for as long as I can remember. And I still adore Nine. :) I think I fell for him when he was telling Rose he was an alien.
"So why do you sound like you're from the north?"
"Lots of planets have a north!"

oh god. i felt bad for Simon because he spent so much time trying to say the name and in the episode you can't really hear him say it. there's some sound over his voice. all that work for nothing ;)

i've heard great things about Four and eventually i'd like to watch some of his stuff. just from quotes i've seen on icons and a YouTube clip or two, i think i already like him. and i loved that 'north' line too, but i really love the way (and how often) he says 'fantastic!' XD

Fantastic! :D

I made a post about Father's Day, and I just loved the Nine-frustration and those hints of his age and the fundamental goodness under his cynicism. God, that ep made me cry.

Four had two terrific companions - Leela and Romana II. I like the idea of Leela/Four. She was just so simple and blunt. She has some similarities with Rose, although Rose is more intelligent and less violent. And doesn't wear tight leather as much.
