Jun. 30th, 2009 12:57 pmJust popping in to say that I'm alive and kicking. Well, not quite kicking. I'm sore as hell. But considering I'm sans one organ, I'd say I'm doing pretty well.
ETA: For the record, my surgery was around 8am and I was released from the hospital by about 1pm. And I think most of that time was because they promised to keep me there until my mom could come visit me on her lunch break. I was walking around (well, shuffling) just a few hours after surgery.

Date: 2009-06-30 09:45 pm (UTC)Yep! Everything seemed to go smoothly. Now I just get to be sore and heal as quickly as possible. The doctor wanted me walking around as much and as soon as possible to help the healing process. And as for pain meds, I've got some good stuff in case I need it, but I've just been taking Advil and I've been okay. Even slept the whole night *nods*

Date: 2009-07-01 05:58 am (UTC)Oh, man, the "good stuff" is sometimes too good to be true! Vicodin made me vomit -- a lot. My sister's exact words were "Linda Blair in The Exorcist".

Date: 2009-07-02 03:02 am (UTC)I try to avoid taking pain killers in general. They tend to make me feel off. Never had them make me vomit though. Although stuff that's supposed to help you sleep does make me feel nervous and jittery. I forget what they gave me, but I'm just sticking to OTC medicine for now. No need to risk hallucination and death when I don't have to, eh?
