Matsuyama Kenichi <3
Mar. 12th, 2009 09:23 pmMatsuyama Kenichi, how I've missed you. Watching Detroit Metal City has reminded me just how much I enjoy watching you. Perhaps it's time I finally got around to watching your new drama, Zeni Geba *nods*
( Here is Kenichi's character, Negishi Soichi, doing what he loves - singing sweet pop music. )
( And here he is, doing what he does for a living (and hates) - singing death metal in a group called 'Detroit Metal City.' )
On a slightly related note, when they show an actor's profile in Japan, why do they include the blood type? Nevermind. I think I just Googled myself an answer.
Although there is no proven correlation between blood type and personality, it remains popular with the many matchmaking services that cater to blood type. In this way, it is similar to the use of astrological signs in the west, which is also popular in Japan. Asking one's blood type is common in Japan, and people are often surprised when a non-Japanese does not know his or her own blood type.
Many idols, tarento and other Japanese celebrities include a blood type statistic in their profiles, in addition to other facts such as their hobbies and star sign.
For the record, I'm Type B which means...
... Result oriented and strong minded, type B people will start a job and continue until it is completed, and completed well. Type B people are the individualists of the blood groups and find their own way in life.
... People with blood type B are the most practical of the blood groups. They are specialists in what they do. When they start a project, they spend extra time understanding and trying to follow directions than others might. When they are doing something, all of their attention is focused on it. They tend to stick to a goal and follow it through to the end, even if it seems impossible. They tend to be less than cooperative, as they like to follow their own rules and their own ideas. They are individualists. B type people pay attention to their thoughts a little more than their feelings, and therefore can sometimes seem cold and serious.
People with blood type B are often considered more relaxed, freewheeling, and unconventional than other types, although not necessarily to an unacceptable degree. In anime, the genki, off-the-wall types are type B, along with any kind of well-intended character who's ruled by their impulses. [from here]
... Type B – The Hunter: individualist, dislike custom, strong, optimistic, creative, flexible, wild , unpredictable.
Well, this entry took a turn for the random. I swear, I only meant to recommend a movie.
Soichi Negishi is a shy and gentle young man who dreams of a career as a pop musician. Dreams don't pay the bills, so he's ended up as the lead singer of a death metal band called “Detroit Metal City.” In stage costume he is Johannes Krauser II, rumored to be a demon, to have killed and raped his parents, to wield his giant death penis with abandon, etc. etc. Negishi despises DMC and all that it stands for, but so help him, he's a terrific performer and can't walk away from that. As DMC's star rises Negishi tries to satisfy both worlds, but can he? No. No, he can't.
