Stolen from a couple people on my list - LOL for the record, I'm very bad at remembering stuff from that long ago :P
Fandom Year in Review:
Your main fandom of the year?
I started out with stuff like the JoBros and the Sherlock Holmes movie but ending the year? Probably Sherlock (BBC) and Doctor Who. And Toma of course.
Your favorite film watched this year?
'How To Train Your Dragon' was wonderful. 'Mr. Nobody' was a little mind-fucky. 'A Study in Terror' was better than I thought it would be (Sherlock vs. Jack the Ripper). 'Hawking' was moving as was 'A Single Man' and 'Wilde'. 'Red' was fun. 'Paranormal Activity 2' scared me. 'Confetti' was a pretty good romcom. 'I Love You Philip Morris' was funny and touching in its own way. 'Tetro' was really good.
Your favorite book read this year?
'American Gods' by Neil Gaiman and 'The Carnivorous Lamb' by Agustin Gomez-Arcos.
Your favorite album or song to listen to this year?
Song I can't do because there have been so many. But albums? Dead Man's Bones, 'Would It Kill You?' by Hellogoodbye, 'Shout It Out' by Hanson, Nick J's solo album, the Doctor Who Series 5 OST, etc...
Your favorite TV shows of the year?
Sherlock, Doctor Who, Community, Merlin, White Collar, Psych, Peep Show, Would I Lie to You?, Never Mind the Buzzcocks (especially when Lee Mack hosted), It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, NCIS, Storm Chasers, My Fair Lady...
Your favorite LJ community of the year?
Tie between
sherlockbbc and
doctoreleven.
Your best new TV discovery of the year?
Sherlock (although I was a fan of the original stories, the Granada show, and the recent movie, so discovery might be pushing it). Doctor Who was more than I could have hoped for this series. Blew me away. Would I Lie To You? and Peep Show made me LOL IRL. David Mitchell, I ♥ you. My Fair Lady was a really good Korean drama. And You're Beautiful was fun. Melissa & Joey was cute, as was Hot in Cleveland. Grandma's House was delightfully awkward and funny.
Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
House probably. I've pretty much stopped watching it :/ I just don't care about House and Cuddy. Hugh Laurie, I love you but it's just not the same show any more. OH and not being able to see Matt Smith live on the Late Late Show :(
Your TV boyfriend of the year?
Characters? Sherlock, Eleven, and Suh Dong-chan from My Fair Lady (Korean Drama). And I guess pretty much any character Toma plays because I'm easy like that.
Your TV girlfriend of the year?
Amy Pond.
Your biggest squee moment of the year?
Besides spending 2 weeks in Europe? Watching NCIS with Dutch subtitles. Buying all sorts of Doctor Who crap in London and Dublin. Visiting 221B Baker Street again. I was pretty damn excited when Jude Law appeared on some random Japanese show with Toma. That was a mind-blowing combination for me. Enjoying the new Sherlock so damn much. Finding out that the Doctor Who Christmas Special was going to air in the states on Christmas! No meeting of celebs or seeing anybody live this year I'm afraid ;)
The most missed of your old fandoms?
SG1 I guess. I was hit with a pretty strong case of nostalgia not that long ago.
The TV you haven't tried yet, but want to?
Being Human, Misfits, Farscape, Firefly, I've only seen one ep of Undercovers so far, Hawaii Five-O.
Your biggest fan anticipations for the New Year?
Doctor Who, Sherlock, The Hobbit, anything Toma does, hopefully Comic-Con, Christopher and His Kind, Sherlock Holmes 2, Paul.
PS: Here are pictures my dad took of the eclipse.
