*sweats*

Ugh. I can't wait until this heat wave (hopefully) breaks on Friday.

Anyhoo... My friend just asked me to be her Maid of Honor! Between graduating from college, getting a (temp) job, and this - what the hell? You'd almost think I was becoming an adult o_0

Not if I can help it!

But seriously, other than being the flower girl at my dad's wedding (to my step-mother), this will be the first wedding I've been involved with. Well, I was a witness at my other friend's wedding, but still. Nothing like being a maid of honor. Does this mean I get to plan a bachelorette party?

YES. YES, IT DOES. >:D

For each of the past two years, I have been a bridesmaid for my older sisters. I'm really glad I wasn't maid of honor, though! (Here are pictures: from last October, and from the October before that.)

Luckily my friend is the type to work with me and I'm sure the other bridesmaids would be more than willing to help out. The bride knows what she wants, but thankfully not quite a bridezilla!

Lovely pictures. They look like such beautiful weddings <3

But two in as many years? That seems like a lot of time/money/stress. Although October is a wonderful time of year. Not that I'm biased or anything... ;)

My sisters were pretty relaxed, too. The first one was most stressful on the rest of us (my parents rented a motorhome & drove to the wedding, since it was only from Anaheim to Eureka, but the motorhome was awful, and there was a propane leak, and my mom got stung on her lower eyelid by a bee or a wasp the night before the wedding, and I got some nasty head cold/ear infection after the plane ride), but the second one was more stressful on the bride (she & her fiance were living with us in California, and trying to plan their wedding in Atlanta, Georgia, and only moved back out east a month before the wedding).

October is nice! My oldest sister was married on our grandpa's birthday. I think my sisters saw how my parents celebrate their anniversary in November, and liked it. Since it's off-season, they've gotten some pretty nice, relaxed weekend getaways for not much expense.

Oh man. That first trip - propane leak, bee sting (and under the eye!), and head cold. Sounds like you guys barely survived ^_^

You know, I never really thought about that. But I think I would rather celebrate my anniversary in October/November too. I don't know. Just something about that time of year.
