*coughs up a lung*

I either have a bug or pretty bad allergies. My nose is plugged up so that I couldn't breathe last night. I finally passed out around 4/4.30am while watching Drake & Josh. I must have snored something fierce because my throat is all dry and scratchy and I can't stop doing the annoying dry throat cough :/ I'm drinking a lot of water but it's not helping. My mom did go out to get me Ricola cough drops and chicken soup though. That should help. Hopefully. It better! I have Frankenstein to watch this weekend. Although, as I'm writing this, my lungs are starting to hurt :/ In order to slightly amuse myself and to keep myself from dwelling too much on it, whenever I cough, I try to fake the Zoolander black lung cough.

I had a weird dream last night. It had Jack and Daniel as a couple but Jack was a Jack/Sherlock hybrid and Daniel was a Daniel/John hybrid. They looked like Jack and Daniel but they acted like a mix of them plus Sherlock and John. Whatever, Jack and Daniel were making out so I wasn't about to start complaining.

My brother was watching Enterprise earlier today and it was "In a Mirror, Darkly" but he had no idea what was going on, so I showed him "Mirror, Mirror" and he kept going 'Oh, I get it now! That must be what they were referencing.' It was amusing to watch :D

My Starfleet sweatshirt was shipped and expected delivery is April 6th!! Want it now, but I guess I can wait. Since I don't really have a choice :P

And that is all that is noteworthy, atm. I've been applying to jobs and I had my phone interview with unemployment so I guess I'll find out if I'm getting anything in about 10 days. What an exciting life I lead :P

'Sweet zombie Jesus' is right!

WHY DID NOBODY TELL ME STAR TREK IS AT THE TECH MUSEUM?!?!?!

They're even playing the new movie in the IMAX theatre!!! I don't know how yet, but I'm going. I can take the bus to BART, take the BART to the Millbrae station, switch to the train, get off in San Jose, and walk the 6 blocks to the museum. The movie doesn't start until about 5 though, so getting back will suck.

I'll figure something out.

This would all be a lot easier if I drove.

Marry me. Because I'd like to date you.

I ♥ cheesy romance (aka I just watched The Proposal). It was a cute enough movie. Ryan Reynolds is hot (though I miss the lankier days of Two Guys) and Betty White will never not be awesome.

I'm also in the process of filling my iPod with cheesy (as if there were any other kind) BL movies.

My surgical consult went fine and (but?) because I'm so symptomatic, they're scheduling my surgery for as soon as possible - maybe even this week.

It was such a nice day today, weather-wise, that a chocolate kiss I had in my pocket melted :(

And because I don't think I will ever get tired of this picture, my current desktop (which I really need to clean) -

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

Bordering on RPS there a little, aren't we?

If you can't tell already, I'm slightly bored and rambly.

Y-O-U-apostrophe-R-E G-O-double-N-A D-I-E Die!

Why do I feel like I've used that for a subject line before?

Maybe it's the chocolate chips I'm eating right now, I don't know. I'm too lazy too see if we have all the ingredients to make chocolate chip cookies let alone actually make them, but I wanted something chocolatey so fuck it - I'm eating the chips. Anyhoo, my point is that I'm all giggly.

I'm really not into the new Star Trek fandom, but I do love how enthusiastic and fun everyone seems. I do like to pop in every now and then. Right now, I'm reading all the Shatner/Nimoy prompts for the kinkmeme and just loving how much fun they're having ^_^ I'm also rediscovering my crush for Mr. Shatner (Nimoy can come too). Not like it ever went away, but it is feeling a little stronger these days.

Ummm... I really don't have anything else to say. I've listened to this song about 20 times in a row and I can't seem to stop. I'm so going to have this played at my funeral.

You. Are. Gon. Na. Die. )

ETA: Okay, another not-so-guilty confession. I'm also watching I Survived a Japanese Game Show on ABC. Despite being tired and semi-in pain, I'm kinda loving life right now.

ETA 2: Exciting House spoilers and Doctor Who spoilers. SPOILERS

2009-05-30 08:59 pm

And baby when it's love if it's not rough it isn't fun

Last night I was on the computer until about 2am playing with PSP and making a banner and icon featuring Ikuta Toma and Yoon Eun Hye (a Korean actress). I still wanted Toma in my banner, but I also wanted something different. Plus I think Eun Hye is adorable/gorgeous and I absolutely loved her in Coffee Prince. I'll post some pictures of her when I do my girl!crush picspam. Anyhoo, the banner is simple but I like it. The lyrics are from 'Now Hang Me Up To Dry' by Cold War Kids because thanks to those Burn Notice commercials, I can't get that shit out of my head. Would anybody happen to have that song? Or Lady Gaga's album while I'm asking? *bats eyelashes*

Anyway, the point of this is that now I think I've started shipping it. Ugh, I sound like a fandom!secret. Not in a realistic way of course, but in some. kind. of way... probably a Mary Sue kinda way *shrug* I don't even know how that would work. They just look pretty together ;P But I feel like creating a backstory for them and a fanmix and I don't know what's wrong with me.

After I got off the computer at 2, I watched an episode of Star Trek. TOS of course. I can't seem to fall asleep these days without watching some. The night before I went to sleep around 2am because I just had to finish Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. And now that I finally own all three seasons, look out! I'll never sleep again.

------------------

Today we actually had some excitement at work. A car was smoking in front of our store (thankfully not right outside). We were all watching and calling 911 just to make sure the police knew what was going on when the damn thing burst into flames. Only in the front/engine area, but still. Other than movies, I've never seen a car actually on fire. Thank God the fire didn't reach the gas and blow. It was crazy. And smelled disgusting. At one point, we had 4 cop cars and 2 fire engines there. But yeah, that was the highlight of my day.

Oh, and I know y'all probably know about this by now, but if you haven't seen any of those 'literal music videos' floating around there, I recommend you start with 'Total Eclipse of the Heart'. I couldn't stop laughing XD

1. House/Wilson vid which made me smile uncontrollably

2. *original* Kirk/Spock vid which made me cry like a baby (then again, when it comes to Kirk & Spock, what doesn't make me cry?)

3. *new* Kirk/Spock vid set to 'Poker Face' by Lady Gaga. When it comes to the new ST movie, please to be keeping the crack vids coming <3

In less horrific news, my mom got two new baby rats. I named them Nowaki and Hiroki ;) Also, watch this nu!Trek Kirk-centric vid set to 'Circus' by Britney Spears and be happy. Because 'Kirk's a "put on a show" kind of girl (oh, you know he is).' (Spoilers for the new Star Trek movie)

Yesterday, I worked half a day and then went to San Jose for my sister's career panel (for Girl Scouts). Turns out my cousin is the PR guy for the Oakland Raiders. Who knew? This morning, my dad drove me back so I could work from 12-8:30pm. I'm kinda tired. And it's hot here. Yuck.

And finally, for what it's worth, I have 2 Dreamwidth invite codes, so holla if you want one.

'Star Trek' has galactic $76.5M opening weekend

"Star Trek," ... is an unusual blockbuster that pleased critics, too, receiving 96 percent positive reviews on the Rotten Tomatoes Web site.

Not really sure why it's an 'unusual blockbuster,' but okay. People like it. That's all I care about. It's weird seeing so much activity in the fandom again. And for the record, it still feels weird reading about the 'new' Kirk/Spock. However, all this influx of Trek!love has made me break out my TOS DVDs again <3

'We're All Trekkies Now'

In a Newsweek article about Star Trek (title is subject line), they compare the current White House staff/politicians to characters from ST -

Obama is Spock (Cool, collected... those ears).
Rush Limbaugh is Klingon Commander Kor (Villainous aggressor on the verge of war).
Bill Clinton is Captain Pike (So talented, so promising... so damaged).
Joe Biden is McCoy (Salty motormouth who thinks he knows best).
Rahm Emanuel is Kirk (Seriousness of purpose meets unbridled id).

STAR TREK!

I saw the new Star Trek movie last night and let me say, as a fan of the original series, I loved it. It was funny, entertaining, exciting, and the cast worked really well together. I was a little nervous going into it just because you never really know, but I was pleasantly surprised. Like, you have no idea how happy I am that I liked this movie. I was so worried. A bit more spoilery thoughts ) I really liked the movie and the characters. I recognized them, but they were also new and surprised me. In a good way <3

*stares* ILU, Japan

I've had this stuck in my head since yesterday when I made the mistake of playing DDR at the movie theatre while waiting for L: Change the WorLd to start. And after being on my feet for 9 hours at work - WTH was I thinking?

And if my life isn't exciting enough already, I finally got my health insurance card and now I'm looking online for gastroenterologists near me (who take my insurance). So far, I see a couple who are accepting new patients. I'll give them a call tomorrow before work. I'm so happy to think that soon I might actually know what the eff is wrong with me and what I can do about it.

Saturday is my next day off and I plan on going to J-town for magazines and Target for a Mother's Day card and a birthday card for my dad (whose bday is on Mom's Day). And next week is freaking Star Trek. Honestly, I'm taking this movie with a grain of salt. It won't be my ST and I think I can be okay with that. Otherwise I know I'll just be disappointed. Even with the awesome power that is Simon Pegg. Oh, and I'll have my Kirk and Spock action figures ;)

RIP Bea Arthur :(

My 'stomach' is acting up again. Two nights ago I spent practically the entire night throwing up. I've never thrown up that much before. Yesterday I left work early, got into bed, and didn't get up for 12 hours. Today I'm still sore from all the throwing up. Good news though - I finally got in touch with the HR person and they're sending me another health insurance card. It's supposed to take 7-10 days. It's been a month. I did get my info though, so I can at least start looking for a doctor and make an appointment. Also possible good news, I think I might know what's wrong with me. I think it's my gallbladder. I actually got into a conversation with a teller at Wellsfargo who has gallbladder problems and she said mine sounds kind of like hers. It would explain why the pain doesn't come until about 6 hours after I've eaten, why I keep throwing up bile, why Pepto and such do not work, and now that I think about it - it seems to happen after I've eaten something fatty/greasy. Oh, and apparently my grandma had hers taken out and my mom has gallstones. Seems to run in the family :/

Some actual good news - I got my tickets to the May 7th midnight 10:30pm showing of the new Star Trek movie! And Toma's new drama premiered today <3

Even though I was supposed to have tomorrow off, we have an important visit on Tuesday so I said I'd come in and help out some more. So on that note, I'm getting into bed. 'Night!

do you suffer from LOB (lack of bonerness)?

I'm glad everyone seemed to have survived VAD (Velociraptor Awareness Day). I assume everybody is alive and well. I personally spent the day wearing my 'When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth' shirt from Threadless.com. I also went to the mall with my sister and bought another pair of those awesome dinosaur earrings from Hot Topic, because like an idiot I broke my first pair. I'm just glad they still have them; I thought they weren't around any more. Well, I can't find them on the website, but they had them in the store.

Oh! I also bought two action figures from FYE - original!Kirk and original!Spock. I don't know why I didn't have them already, but I'm just glad they had both. I'm going to take them with me when I go to the midnight showing of the new ST movie *nods*

After the mall, we all went home and did nothing until it was time to leave again. My sister and I went to go see Jeff Dunham live at the HP Pavilion. As usual, it was great. I was worried it wouldn't be that funny because this is the 3rd time I've seen him live and I've seen all his specials on Comedy Central, but he had more new stuff than I thought he would. And it was good. It won't be nearly as funny if I tried to tell you about it. For instance, if I were to say 'smushed pussy,' you might make this face o_0, and understandably so. Anyway, it was funny and I got a Peanut shirt <3 Oh, and it was Jeff's birthday. After the show, some people brought out a cake shaped like a suitcase with Achmed, Peanut, and Walter on top and sang 'Happy Birthday.'

And now I'm going to clean out my sister's computer of all the shit I don't need any more, and put what I still want to keep in one file so they can transfer it to an external hard drive and then reformat this thing. I've already erased like 5 gigs worth of stuff and I have at least 5 more gigs. I also have to clean out the guest room of all my shit. Take home what I can, throw away what I don't want, and have them put the rest in the attic. Times like this reminds me that I don't really live anywhere. I mean, I live at my mom's, but I don't have a room. I don't really have any personal space. I won't lie - that's a rather depressing thought.

However, the other day I set up a savings account, so I'll start putting money away and maybe not too long from now I'll actually be able to get my own place.

Since this entry seemed to be getting a little depressing towards the end, I'm going to end it with this preview of a special on/about/with Toma (I can't wait for his new drama!!):

4.3 earthquake in San Jose! But we felt it pretty good up here in Daly City too. Been a while since we've had one. Reminds me just how sudden these things happen, unlike storms and whatnot. Also reminds me how much I love planetary science.

Family Guy with the ST:TNG cast was great last night, but the preview they had on Fox.com basically showed all the funny ST bits. So while I laughed so hard I woke up my brother while watching the preview, there wasn't really anything left to laugh at when the actual episode aired.

It was really weird seeing the Boosh on my TV last night. Good, but weird. It also makes me sad that the episode was cut to fit into our timeslots. Still, [Adult Swim] introduced me to Darkplace, so hopefully others can now find the magic and wonder that is the Boosh.
