I'm going to spam you a couple times tonight, I'm not really sorry.
( WHAT DOES IT MEAN?! )
And I don't really do award shows because the second hand embarrassment is just TOO MUCH for me, but ( spoilers for winners/losers )

Today was uneventful. I hate being lazy, but I feel too tired to do anything. If my mom feels up for it, tomorrow I think I'll dye my hair and go get it cut. I need something different. Maybe that'll help me get out of this funk.
PS *laughs forever*

a Picture a Day - Day Twenty-four
I only slept about 1-2 hours tops last night. I actually fell asleep for a bit but woke up having an anxiety attack or something and instead of trying to sleep some more, decided to distract myself with TV and movies. Thankfully my friends have Netflix on their XBox, so I stayed up watching Stargate Continuum, a couple episodes from season 7 (Fallen when Jack say's 'Daniel' and his voice breaks, Enemy Mine, Space Race), an episode of News Radio (my childhood!), some Family Guy, and a movie, Humpday which was... interesting. And awkward. But yeah, the little bit of SG1 rewatching I did got me all nostalgic again.

They're saying we might get snow tomorrow. For the first time since '79, I think.

In other news, I've been looking at some other places for baking schools/classes because a full tuition for the Art Institute is a little much. I mean, I'm sure they'd be much more thorough and maybe you'd have better chances with that behind you, but $33,000 is a little scary sounding. Especially since, while I love baking, I also loved archaeology and who knows what I'll end up doing and for how long. But I found a baking/pastry certificate at City College and it's non-credit. Which means it's FREE. I'm too late for the spring classes, but the summer schedule should be up on March 15th so I can see if it's available then. It'll be Mon-Fri 6-12pm which means 6am to noon and while that would kind of suck, at least I'd be out of the house and I'd have the rest of the afternoon free to work or whatever. I still need to do some serious thinking and planning, but the baking thing is sounding more and more plausible at least.
Also, I'm currently in love with/addicted to Jessie J. I've already posted one of her vids, 'Who You Are', but here are a few more (including that one again). Her first single is 'Do It Like a Dude' and she wrote 'Party in the USA' and based on that, you might wonder why I'm listening to her, LOL. But she seems like a genuinely nice person. She writes her own music and I love how passionate she is. She's always smiling while she sings. IDK, I just really admire that. Her music is also very inspiring and has really hit a chord with me. She also sounds great live/acoustic and I can't say that about too many artists these days. Anyways, she's my newest girlcrush and I can't wait for her CD to come out (~5 days in the UK and in the US we get it late April).

a Picture a Day - Day Twenty-one
I tried to go to sleep early last night because I knew I'd have to get up early today, but I just couldn't. I actually got off the computer about 10:30 which is really early for me these days, but I guess I made the mistake of seeing what was on TV first. Turns out Latter Days was on LOGO, and even though I've seen it, I just HAD to watch it again *headdesk* Sooooo didn't end up going to sleep until about 12:30/1am :/ And I had to wake up at 7 to walk to the bus to take to the BART station to take me to the open house.
Somehow I actually got out of bed at 7:15 and was able to get ready in time for the bus. Got downtown easily enough, I just had never really been there so I wanted to give myself enough time. I got there early, so I had breakfast at Burger King (ugh wish I hadn't) and then read for a bit until it was time to sign in.
Things started at about 10am. There was a presentation first where they gave us the basic info about the school, and then we broke off into groups based on what we wanted to study. They showed us around and we got to see the library and a couple classrooms. We weren't allowed to go into any of the kitchens, but we got to look in. They also have a restaurant in the school that if you're studying food/baking, you'll be working in there at some point to really get some hands on learning experience. It's a quarter system which I'm used to, coming from UCSC. They talked mostly to the people coming in as graduating seniors, so more about the degrees and such. If I went, it would only be for the diploma because I already have a BA and I don't need any more gen ed, thank you very much.
After the tour, they had people who wanted to apply go ahead and do that there so that they could talk to someone about FAFSA and such since all that is due soon. I still have a lot to think about and plan, so if I do this, it might not be until next year. I just looked and FAFSA for California is due March 2nd, so yeah. I definitely won't be ready by then. Though I'm talking to a friend online and she's saying I should fill out FAFSA now just in case. Can you do that if you're not even sure you'll be going to school for a while?
Either way, I'm going to have to look into a job, even part time. I'd like to be able to pay off my school as I go along if I decide to do it, and I need money anyway. So much to think about! But in a good way, I guess. It's a time for changes. I'm just really tired today. Might make it an ACTUAL early night tonight.

So I got my computer back from Geek Squad. Again. They wiped everything and I'm pretty much starting over again. They did back up some of my stuff though so I haven't lost it all. While I was there picking up my computer I decided to get Norton 360. I have since installed it and it's freaking me out. While I was transferring something from my Geek Squad backup to my external, Norton said it found some Trojans (disguised as PDF files I guess) and had contained them. I guess that means that Geek Squad didn't really ever get it. And I keep getting messages that stuff has been found and contained, and while I'm happy to hear they're contained, I just keep thinking that my computer is a mess and I'm so paranoid right now. I don't see how I'll ever be able to relax any more. I wish so much that I didn't have such an unhealthy obsession with the internet and that I didn't form attachments to inanimate or virtual items. I'm running a complete scan right now and I already have a headache (woke up with one, probably because I didn't go to sleep until about 4am). I just want to never have to worry about this stuff again. As if. Maybe I should get a Mac next time.

Being on my brother's computer is just making me sad and I'm actually really tired, so I'm just gonna watch some Merlin and go to sleep. G'night :)

I was just going to make cupcakes and watch movies today, but my friend called and wanted to get dinner. Her husband was just fired and she's upset and doesn't really want to go home right after work. So while it's not under ideal circumstances, at least I get to see a friend today. I'm gonna give her one of my cupcakes :)

( Look who's back! )
And because this year just keeps getting better, my brother's friend, who was born HIV positive, was just sent home from the hospital because what they thought was an infection is actually just his body shutting down. They've given him some drugs to help his immune system, but they're basically saying there's nothing they can do. He just turned 23 yesterday. And just a few days before that, he found out his stepdad (who was an asshole) was found dead in prison. His mother died years ago. He currently lives with his grandmother who is fighting cancer. I just. I don't even know. He's like my brother's only friend too.
And my grandma hurt herself. Her skin tears like tissue paper. So we have to watch her even more carefully and make sure she keeps the bandages on. If it doesn't get better, we'll have to take her to the doctor and my mom isn't supposed to be moving around that much yet.
Tired doesn't even begin to cover it.
