a Picture a Day - Day Twenty-seven

I'm going to spam you a couple times tonight, I'm not really sorry.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?! )

And I don't really do award shows because the second hand embarrassment is just TOO MUCH for me, but spoilers for winners/losers )

Movie rec

Late to the party perhaps, but I just watched The King's Speech. Such a great movie. As in, it was almost two hours long but I never wanted it to end. I genuinely laughed and I actually teared up a bit. I've adored Colin Firth for years, and I love movies like St. Trinian's and Bridget Jones's Diary, but I love being reminded of just how great an actor he is. If you haven't been able to watch it yet, do yourself a favor and go see it! You won't be disappointed.

Aaaaaand, Ikuta Toma was recently awarded Best New Artist at the 53rd Blue Ribbon Awards! I'm still waiting on subs for Ningen Shikkaku and Hanamizuki, but at least I've been able to watch Seaside Motel :D

I love it when my boys get the recognition they deserve ♥

IF THIS HAPPENED, I WOULD PROBABLY SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUST, MY OVARIES WOULD EXPLODE, AND I'D SPEW HAPPINESS ALL OVER THE PLACE.

That said, I hope it happens \o/

Rupert Everett, Colin Firth, David Tennant... what's not to love?

In theatres December 18, but I wonder how long until I get to see it :(

Then your fingers touched my silent heart and taught it how to sing

So I ended up with 78 screencaps from Another Country. I don't think I have the patience to post them all, so I'm going to focus mainly on Colin. You can see the rest in my gallery, though.

I just... can't get over how young he looks o_0

How young they ALL look.

More pictures, including possible spoilers I suppose. )

HEROES (and movie rec)

I love how reactions to the new season of Heroes seems to be quite varied. I'm not going to go into great detail, but here are my two cents. )

OK, that's all I have to say about that for now ^_^

Oh, and I have another movie to recommend - Another Country. Yes, I did originally just watch it for Colin Firth, but it also has Cary Elwes and Rupert Everett. Oh, and it's a fantastic movie. Not the most uplifting of things (most really good movies rarely are), but I still highly recommend it if you haven't already seen it. In a couple minutes hours I'll also be posting a picspam of Colin (and a few of Rupert and Cary) from the movie. They're so young!

You love it, you saucy minx.

Okay, so I'm bored and nervous waiting for my driving lesson today. I really don't think I like driving. I don't get excited thinking about it. I dread being out there with other cars. God, two hours of anxiety. Maybe I could pretend I'm piloting a spaceship instead. Or something...

Unfortunately, you guys have to suffer for it (my boredom, that is). Well, I wouldn't exactly call this suffering. But maybe that's just me?

As if I haven't gone on about this enough - Three reasons to watch St. Trinian's.

(no subject)

So the interview the other day went well. I think. But one way or another, I should be hearing from them by middle of next week.

Until then I need to listen to the Torchwood radio show and I have quite a few movies on my computer that I need to actually watch. Oh, and I need to catch up on Lost in Austen. My friend and I saw some of that while actually in London, and since I've been back I'm trying to start from the beginning.

Other than that, I'm still sick and now crampy too (yay!). But while everyone in the house is out at school or work, I've been blasting the Mamma Mia! soundtrack and dancing around the house. Not a bad way to spend the days.

... OK, so I wasn't going to talk about Colin Firth again today, but then I read [livejournal.com profile] fandomsecrets and there are TWO Colin secrets today. It must be a sign. Or something.

Anyway, I just found bloopers from St. Trinian's where Colin Firth and Rupert Everett make out. A bit. At the end.

Bonus video: Colin Firth talks about his penis on The Daily Show )

I better finish and post this before Firefox decides to close on me again. I don't know if it's Firefox or my brother's computer. Either way, it's annoying as hell.

Hopefully I'll have pictures from my mini-Eurotrip by this weekend.

Colin, jobs, and raptors, oh my!

I think the job interview went well. They've called me back for another one tomorrow, so that must be a good sign. Right?

PS St. Trinian's is now one of my favorite movies <3 I'll probably end up buying it anyway (or asking for it as a birthday present - less than a month!), but would anyone happen to have the soundtrack?

This also brings me up to 60 movies this year. I might actually make it this year!

PPS I might have lied a smidgen...

I could survive for 1 minute, 16 seconds chained to a bunk bed with a velociraptor

HOUSE!!! (and Colin Firth)

So I feel kind of crappy today. I think from all the traveling and whatnot, I've developed a bit of a head cold. Planes do not agree with me. Luckily I had nothing to do today so I just stayed in bed and watched Pride and Prejudice (the version with Colin Firth, of course) as well as The Importance of Being Earnest. I put St. Trinian's on DVD somewhere and if I can find it, I'll watch that later too. Over the weekend I watched Trauma and then watched Bridget Jones's Diary with my friends because one of them had never seen it. As you can see, I'm slowly working my way through every movie Colin Firth has every been in. And I'm enjoying it immensely. As I'm also enjoying this picture a great deal <3

Tomorrow though, I have a job interview. Let's hope I'm feeling slightly less blah. Ugh, I think I'm going to take some drugs with dinner. I can't tell if I have a fever or not and I'm too lazy to check.

However, some good news - ALL NEW SEASON OF HOUSE STARTS TONIGHT!!! And we're ordering pizza and making a little family night of it. Since it's one of the few things we all like to watch.

Anyway, I'm off to watch House and then crash. I need sleep if I'm going to be even slightly productive tomorrow.

Never go against your gut, Gatekeeper.

I went to Japantown today. I haven't been there in ages, but I had a lot of fun. My mom and I picked up one of my friends on the way there. We had sushi, tapioca bubble tea, I finally got to try taiyaki... It was delicious. I also spent more there than I would have liked. But it was an acceptable loss. I found L FILE No.15. I already have the scans, but I decided I needed the hard copy. I might not be able to understand any of the writing, but I sure can appreciate the pictures ^_^

We also went into a crepe shop to use the ATM and I saw Mamma Mia! posters (mini posters) on the wall. I wondered if the people still wanted them because the movie's been out for a while. I was too afraid to ask though, so my friend asked for me. I now have two mini-copies of this poster. Colin <3

'Twas a good day.

I have a Matt Keeslar movie rec for y'all - Urbania. I also have what appears to be another Keeslar picspam. So, enjoy!

i need a nap

Work is starting to suuuuuuuuuck. She's not my immediate boss, but I think I wouldn't have so much of a problem here if I wasn't working for my stepmom. What's worse is that about a week into me temping here, she moves desks (because she was right under the air conditioning before). Now, she's right next to me.

*le sigh*

But I'm only supposed to be here for another two weeks anyway. I might as well stick it out. God knows I need the money.

Yesterday I went to some high school reunion for my parents and their friends. I didn't want to go anywhere, but I hadn't seen my mom in a while. It was worth it just for the spinach dip she brought. I love that dip. When we were saying good bye, she hugged me. But she was also holding a bottle that wasn't closed properly and ice cold water poured down the back of my shirt. Shit that was cold!

But last night was even better. My dad, sister, and stepmom all went over a friend's for dinner, so I stayed home and had the house to myself. I ordered a pizza, drank diet caffeine-free Coke, had a chocolate éclair for dessert and watched Girl With a Pearl Earring. )
(No spoilers under the cut, just the poster for the movie.) Man, I remember that book from high school. The day I saw Mamma Mia!, I went home and had the DVR record anything with Colin Firth. I already watched Girl with a Pearl Earring and hopefully tonight (or soon) I can watch the other movie it recorded, Trauma.
