From what I understand, that deal is just for the online tracker, not like meetings or whatever else WW offers. And you'd pay ~$50 total for 3 months and then $17 each month after that until you close your account. If you want to look into meetings, you can sign up here http://www.weightwatchers.com/util/mtf/index.aspx (MAIN SITE is http://www.weightwatchers.com/Index.aspx)
I just don't think meetings would be very doable for me right now, but I know they can be a big help when it comes to support and helping you stay on track. I know my step mom got charms for weight she'd lose and if you make your goal in a year you get free membership for life or something. At least that's how it used to be. Not sure about now.
Sorry for editing, but I've been browsing the WW site and here's maybe the place to start with comparing meetings vs. online with links to more info for both - http://www.weightwatchers.com/plan/apr/ways.aspx
I only drink diet sodas, so while they don't add calories, they also don't add anything of value. AND they take calcium out of my bones. Plus, water is always better. I know I've been able to give up soda before, so it can be done again.
Life is hard. Though sometimes I think that I make things harder by thinking too much and struggling when I could be going with the flow a little better. But that's just who I am and I need to learn how to work with that ;)
