1. describe your favourite thing ever without actually saying what it is. can be a person, place, object, etc.
Soft, cuddly, old (as old as I am), brown. Other than the obvious family and friends, this is most definitely my favoritest thing in the world. As a child, when I left it at my dad's, he would ship it to me. When I left it at the Russian River, we had to go back for it even though we were halfway home already. I'm not going to lie - I still sleep with it in my bed.
2. what's your favourite board game? least favourite?
This one is a little harder. I love a lot of board games actually and I wish more people played them. I love almost anything from Cranium, Monopoly, Clue, and many more that I'm forgetting the names of I'm sure. I don't think I have a least favorite one. Not that I can single out at least. Some are more fun than others though. Maybe Risk? Don't much care for that one.
3. what fictional character do you wish existed in real life?
So many. House would be a pain in the ass, but he'd figure out what the hell was wrong with you. The Doctor because then the world would be (mostly) safe from alien threats. Harry Dresden, because he is a wonderful human being, a powerful wizard, and I would just feel safer knowing there's someone like that out there. Same goes for the Middleman (except for the wizard part). I'd just like to know he's out there, saving the world and drinking milk. L because he could solve anything. Nakatsu because I love him ;) Tatsuma (and Kyouichi by default - can't have one without the other) because I want nothing more than to adopt him, hug him, and feed him strawberries.
I'm sure there are more, but I'll leave it at that for now ^_^
4. what's your ideal job?
I've thought about this before, and I still don't quite know. I'd almost like to say 'get paid for doing nothing' but I'm sure that would get boring. I'd love to work with ancient things, use my creativity, have fun, interact with other people as well as do work on my own. I'd probably like to travel the world too. And make lots of money... Yeah, doesn't really sound like anything. I'd love to work in a museum at some point. I'd also love to actually work with fossils/artifacts. I had quite a bit of fun in my lithic analysis lab in Santa Cruz.
5. have you ever had a dream you know you'll never forget? what is it?
I used to write down my dreams as soon as I remembered them. There were some good ones and some nightmares. Two I don't think I'll ever forget were horrible. One scares the shit out of me - It's night and there's rain and lightening. I'm floating in the middle of the ocean. I can't see anything for miles and I can't even see my surroundings until lightening flashes. I'm slowly drowning. Under water I see something in the distance. Each time the lightening flashes, it seems to be closer than before. It looks like a whale, but it's just floating there, dead, with blood leaking out making the water around it red and murky. That's about all, but just remembering it still gives me shivers. The idea of being out in the middle of nowhere, in the ocean, it's cold and dark, you can't see anything except in flashes, something as big as a whale in there with you, in its territory, dead.
The other one makes me depressed and is the only time I really remember waking up crying. In my dream, I'm trying to call my mom on her cell phone. It keeps ringing and ringing but no one picks up. My dad I think, everybody really, is trying to tell me that she's dead, but I won't hear it. I just keep repeating 'Why won't she pick up?' Doesn't help that my friend's friend was waiting for her mom to pick her up one day, but she never came. Turned out she was killed in a car accident on the way. One of my worst fears.
