EARTHQUAKE!
Oct. 31st, 2007 12:18 pmI guess unless you live in Northern California, you might not know what I'm talking about, but we had an earthquake last night. The largest since the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989.
I was watching NCIS [which might just kill me next week btw] when all of a sudden the room started swaying back and forth. I was 4 the last time there was a decent earthquake. I have also never been on the fourth floor of a 6 floor building during one before. Needless to say, I was a little freaked out. It was a long one too. Apparently it lasted about 30 seconds. Which feels like a long time when you're being tossed back and forth. I got my cell phone, keys, and wallet and went into the hallway were like five other people were out of their apartments too.
I called my mom and brother to see if they felt it too but the phones were busy. I finally got through (after being really worried about them) and they felt it in Daly City. Turns out it was near San Jose, so I call my dad and sister who live there to make sure they're all right. Their phones were busy! Turns out my sister was calling my house. I finally get in touch with them. It was the first earthquake my sister has been alive for (at least the first you could actually feel). My dad was in the hot tub when it happened and water was splashing out of the pool. My sister's dog, Willy was freaking out. He's a little, nervous dog to begin with (gets scared of leaves) so he was shaking and barking.
The day before we had a thunder storm, which we never have, and yesterday we had an earthquake. What's going to happen today?
Btw, HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYBODY! My friends and I are going to try to brave the downtown crowd tonight to see 30 Days of Night and then I plan on having nightmares tonight. Last night I dreamed about freaking zombies again. WTH? Since when did they become my worst nightmare?
Also, it's freezing right now (by Santa Cruz standards at least).
ETA: I enjoyed House last night. Never enough Wilson, but I thoroughly enjoyed what moments we had <3 <3
